Terms from astrology, Tarot, numerology and Human Design explained in plain language — no jargon, no absolute claims.

5D Consciousness

"5D consciousness" is a modern esoteric concept for a state of perception freer from fear and struggle, as opposed to ordinary "3D" survival logic and control.

Ancestral Pattern (Family Program)

An ancestral pattern is a recurring script, belief, or behavior a person inherits from their family, often without realizing it isn't their own free choice.

Archetype

A universal, recurring image or role (the Sage, the Hero, the Mother) that structures human experience — a central concept in reading Tarot and myth.

Ascendant

The Ascendant is the zodiac sign that was rising on the eastern horizon the moment you were born; it shapes the "mask" — the first impression you give others.

Astrological Aspect

An aspect is the angle between two points in a natal chart (say, 90° or 120°) that shows how their energies interact — in ease or in tension.

Astrological House

A house is one of the twelve life spheres in a natal chart (relationships, career, home, money) through which the energy of signs and planets plays out.

Aura

The aura is the idea of a subtle energy field around the body, used across traditions to talk about mood, wellbeing, and the impression a person leaves on others.

Authority (Human Design)

The inner decision-making mechanism in a Human Design chart — it shows where a reliable yes or no actually comes from: the body, the emotions, or time.

Bind Rune

A symbol formed by combining two or more Futhark runes into a single image, used to merge and reinforce their meanings in an intention practice.

Chakras

Seven energy centers of the body in the Hindu and yogic tradition, each tied to a distinct area of life — from safety to a sense of meaning.

Chiron

Chiron is a centaur asteroid between Saturn and Uranus that in astrology symbolizes a "deep wound" which, over time, becomes a source of strength and a gift for healing others.

Decan

A decan is a third of a zodiac sign (10 degrees) that adds a nuance from a neighboring element or ruling planet to the sign's overall character.

Egregore

An egregore is an esoteric idea of a "collective energetic entity" that forms around a shared idea, family, or group of people and seems to take on a life of its own.

Elder Futhark

The oldest runic alphabet of the Germanic peoples — 24 symbols used both as writing and as a tool for divination and reflection.

Energy Cleansing

A set of practices — from airing out a room to breathwork and meditation — aimed at the subjective feeling of "shedding" accumulated heaviness.

Expression Number (Destiny Number)

A number calculated from your full birth name that shows how you naturally express yourself and your talents in the world.

Full Moon

The phase of maximum moonlight, symbolically marking a cycle's culmination, completion, and the point to take stock of what began at the New Moon.

Gates (Human Design)

The 64 "gates" of the bodygraph — themes inherited from the I Ching's hexagrams, activated by birth data and forming the channels between centers.

Gene Keys

A self-inquiry system by Richard Rudd that reframes the 64 gates of Human Design as "keys" with three levels — Shadow, Gift, and Siddhi.

House Cusp

A cusp is the exact boundary, in degrees, where one astrological house ends and the next begins — the point used to read "borderline" situations in a natal chart.

Human Design

A self-inquiry system that combines astrology, the I Ching, Kabbalah, and the chakra model into a chart (bodygraph) with a type, strategy, and authority.

Intention

A consciously formulated decision to act in a given direction, which self-inquiry practices anchor to symbolically "clean" moments, like the New Moon.

Karmic Debt Numbers (13, 14, 16, 19)

Four special numbers in a numerology chart that point to a recurring lesson from past experience, one worth finally seeing through this time.

Karmic Lesson

A karmic lesson is a recurring life theme or difficulty that, in esoteric thinking, keeps returning until a person recognizes it and lives it through differently.

Lenormand Cards

A deck of 36 concrete, object-based cards (Rider, House, Snake, and so on) that read specific life situations more literally and down-to-earth than Tarot.

Lunar Day

One of the 29-30 days of the lunar calendar, counted from the New Moon, traditionally carrying its own theme and recommended practice.

Lunar Node

The Lunar Nodes (North and South) are two points where the Moon's orbit crosses the Sun's path; in astrology they describe your habitual comfort zone and your direction for growth.

Matrix of Destiny

The Matrix of Destiny is a numerology system that turns your birth date into a diagram of archetypal numbers describing character, relationships, and recurring life themes.

Meditation

The practice of consciously watching your thoughts or breath without interfering with them, used to calm the mind and support self-inquiry.

Midheaven (MC)

The Midheaven (Medium Coeli, MC) is the highest point of a natal chart, the cusp of the tenth house, symbolizing public standing, career, and how society sees you.

Natal Chart

A natal chart is a "snapshot of the sky" at the moment you were born: the positions of every planet, sign, and house, used by astrology to describe the structure of a personality.

New Moon

The phase when the Moon is invisible from Earth and a new 29-day cycle begins — a symbolic starting point for setting new intentions.

Numerology

A system that reads numbers in your name and birth date as a symbolic language of character, cycles, and personal potential.

Personal Year

One of nine stages in numerology's nine-year cycle that defines the main theme of a given year in a person's life.

Profile (Human Design)

A pair of numbers from 1 to 6 in a Human Design chart (for example, 1/3 or 5/2) that describes a person's life role and the way they learn.

Retrograde Planet

A retrograde planet is an optical illusion where a planet appears to move backward across the zodiac; astrology reads it as a time for review and returning to unfinished business.

Ruling Planet

A ruling planet is the planet traditionally assigned to "govern" a given zodiac sign (Mars rules Aries, for instance); its placement in a chart adds nuance to that sign.

Sacral Authority

Sacral Authority is one type of "inner compass" in the Human Design system: decisions are checked through a body-level "yes" or "no" response to direct questions.

Sacral Center

One of the nine energy centers in the Human Design bodygraph, responsible for life-force energy and a body-level yes/no response.

Shadow Work

Shadow work is the practice of recognizing and accepting the repressed, uncomfortable, or denied parts of yourself instead of fighting them or projecting them onto others.

Sign Modality (Quality)

Modality is one of three ways a zodiac sign acts: cardinal (initiates), fixed (sustains), or mutable (adapts and transforms).

Significator

A card chosen to stand in for a person or situation in a Tarot or Lenormand spread — a reference point the rest of the cards are read against.

Solar Return

A solar return is a chart built for the moment the Sun returns exactly to your birth position; it's read as the theme of the year running from birthday to birthday.

Soul Urge Number

A number derived from the vowels in your name that points to your inner desire — what you truly want, apart from outside expectations.

Stellium

A stellium is a cluster of three or more planets in a single sign or house of a natal chart, heavily concentrating energy in that area of life.

Synastry

Synastry is a method of comparing two natal charts that shows where partners naturally resonate and where tension or misunderstanding might arise.

Tarot Arcanum

An arcanum is a single card in the Tarot deck — a symbolic image that carries an archetype or life theme, not a literal prediction of an event.

The 11:11 Portal

A recurring numeric synchronicity (most often 11:11 on a clock) read in numerology as a cue to pause and check your intention.

Transit

A transit is the current movement of the real planets across the sky "here and now," laid over a natal chart to see which themes are active in the present period.

Visualization

The practice of consciously picturing a desired outcome or state in detail, used to sharpen an intention before taking action.
