Profile (Human Design)

A profile is made of two hexagram lines — a conscious one (from your birth date) and an unconscious one (from a calculation roughly 88 days earlier) — forming one of twelve combinations from 1/3 to 6/3. Each line carries an archetypal role: 1 is the Investigator, seeking a solid foundation of knowledge; 2 is the Hermit, a natural talent that unfolds at its own pace; 3 is the one who learns through trial and error; 4 is the Networker, who influences through a close circle; 5 is the Heretic, on whom society projects the role of rescuer; 6 is the Role Model, who becomes an example for others after a mature age. A profile doesn't rate a person's worth — it describes a maturation script: profile 3/5, for instance, means wisdom earned through trial and error eventually becomes a practical solution to other people's problems. Knowing your profile takes the pressure off comparing your own learning pace to someone else's — every combination has its own, equally valid rhythm.
